Russia may export 45 mln tns of grain in Jul 1, 2018–Jun 30, 2019
MOSCOW, Jul 4 (PRIME) – Russia may export about 45 million tonnes of grain in the current agricultural year that started on July 1, 2018 and will end on June 30, 2019, Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev said on Wednesday at a meeting of the agriculture committee of the State Duma, the parliament’s lower house.
“Taking into account the carryovers from the previous year, and taking into account the harvest that we are to have this year, I think that exports of grain will amount to about 45 million tonnes,” he said.
Russia has finished the sowing campaign and started harvesting. Preliminary estimates show a possible crop of 100 million tonnes this year. “This is worse than we had last year, but it is pointless to praise anyone or reproach anyone, it depends on weather conditions, not us, and we are doing everything we can,” he said.
